Story Sites
Places to find good (and bad) stories on the web.
- FlashStories.com -was to be the home for flash stories. It is available for anyone that has the time and energy to make it work. I'll provide the hosting and technical support. Talk to me!
- Stories Online (SOL) - one if the big online stories sites for erotica. In my opinion, one of the best.
- Asstr.org - the granddaddy of stories sites online. From the old Usenet group Asstr. Big, huge, and interesting to find anything!
- Literotica - where most people start their journey with online erotica. Due to censorship issues and their focus on commercialization (advertising), I no longer post my stories there.
Favorite Authors
Here are some of the online authors I read and enjoy. While waiting for my next, you might give them a try.
- Frank Downey's Blog - we hope Frank's life calms down and he can get back to his stories! Dance of a Lifetime was my intro to romantic erotica. So, blame Frank!
- Rev. Cotton Mather - my second discovery in the RE field. Playing the Game is a wonderful work that he is in the process of rewriting and reposting. He's in Book III now.
- Nick Scipio - Summer Camp. Need I say more? Yes, through his forum and chat room I actually got the stupid notion that I should try my hand at writing RE. Blame Nick!
- J Strickland83 - Nick may have provided the initial inspiration, but Strick provided the dynamite! He actually encouraged me. Directly! Don't miss Paddling Upstream. Still one of my favorite stories.
- BarBar - two stories of hers are noteworthy. Perhaps the best in the NiS universe: Suellen Naked in School and Bec.
- Douglas Fox - his Life in Paradise series is a wonderful read. I await each new chapter of Lost and Found eagerly.
- Oz Ozzie - mostly SciFi and Fantasy, but I'm really enjoying Australian Story and devour each new chapter.
- Dark Vision - I started reading him with his NiS story and then discovered the trilogy: The Lottery, Lady Guinivere, and Unique Adventures. Another that I await each new chapter with...
- CWatson - a master of the NiS stories. As he states, he does not write porn nor even erotica. He writes romance that can be graphic at times.
- Ed/be287m - enjoy his adult bedtime reading!
- Wine Maker - The Erotic Vineyard Mysteries are great reads.
- Russell Hoisington - his Wynter stories are a fun read.
- Lazlo Zalezac - The Millionaire Nextdoor is a fantastic story as is Thunder and Lightening.
- Wes Boyd - Next Generation is a really cute story and worth a bedtime read.
- SteveH11 - I'm thoroughly enjoying Winter Fires which he promises to put out new chapters soon. While waiting, I can heartly recommend Equal Shares.
If I forgot anyone, my apologies. I'll be adding and updating this list as time goes on and my tastes change.
Favorites from SoL
These are (in no particular order) my marked favorite stories hosted on SoL.
- Algonquin Memories by Douglas Fox - NOTE: I'm not bookmarking the entire Paradise series of stories by Douglas Fox, this is the first. The first in a series of stories involving families and friends from Paradise, PA. It is a series of coming of age stories where each teen encounters unique challenges in life. A central theme is once every four years, scouting canoe trip to Algonquin Park in Canada. Lost & Found, the most recent story, is still in progress
- Arlene and Jeff by RoustWriter - In Progress. A different kind of story for me, yet well done. Compelling characters and intriguing plot.
- Banner Year by Shrink42 - A young boy placed in an impossible situation manages to overcome it all and grow into a wonderful man.
- Bec by BarBar - See the inner workings of dissociative behavior and discover a wonderful young girl struggling with "The Teenage" years in this wonderfully written and engaging story. No Sex, otherwise it's perfect! LOL!!
- Bec2: Thanksgiving by BarBar - The next book in the story of Bec. Warning: BarBar is practicing being evil with the cliffhangers! She is learning well!!
- Charlotte's Movie by Ken Randall - Bring your hankie (and insulin). Love and misunderstanding. Resolution and joy.
- Dance of a Lifetime by Frank Downey - This is the story that brought me to and hooked me on Romantic Erotica. Follow Warren and Sophia through a life of love, pain, hardship, and joy. Bring tissues and insulin! A classic!
- Glen Wiseman by Lazlo Zalezac - Definitely one of those that makes you think.
- Hunter by Lazlo Zalezac - Lazlo will move you through a wide range of emotions in this story. Well worth the read.
- Intemperance by Al Steiner - Part one of two (and hopefully three???). Rock music, bands, drugs, and women! Remember, never kiss the groupies.
- Lady Guinevere by Dark Vision - The second in the Unique Adventures series. The story continues with new families and kids added to the mix. If you like deep sea fishing, you'll enjoy this (even though diesel engines don't need blowers).
- Looking Through The Lens by Ryan Sylander - Brother and sister, yet different mothers. Coming of age. Well done, even if it is in rewrite!! Looking for the next book in the series.
- Opus One by Ryan Sylander - Music, love, and college - need I say more? If you love classical music, then you will enjoy this masterpiece. I am so waiting for the next book!
- Paddling Upstream by Strickland83 - One of my favorite romance stories. A writer writes the story of his love life - a story of paddling upstream.
- Path To Glory by Brendan Buckley - A very well written, well plotted journey through life of a young man that discovers the glory in life is not the awards and accolades!
- Pete: A Young Man's Story by Magi - Poor Pete. His life takes many twists and turns. Many loves come and some go. Well done story!! In progress.
- Playing the Game by Rev. Cotton Mather - Book One of The Rev's masterpiece. We follow the life of Sean Porter who turns his love of football (soccer) into his life's work, while keeping his joy for the game. A classic of romantic erotica and a MUST READ.
- Playing To Win: Playing The Game II by Rev. Cotton Mather - Book Two of the Rev's work.
- Redemption by Shrink42 - One of a series of stories in a whole universe (that should be marked as such). Shrink is well worth the read. Look him up!
- Reprise by eviltwin - In progress. Still, it is a wonderful journey through life.
- Rite of Passage by Frozen North - Quite an unusual rite of passage story. Very well written and it just flows. The character is highly believable, although the world is not as we know it. Enjoy this one.
- Spitfire and Messerschmitt by Gina Marie Wylie - Although unfinished, it is a fantastic story. I won't say this too loud, but I wish she would finish it.
- Suellen Naked In School by BarBar - In my humble opinion (right!!), this is the BEST of the NiS Stories. A very quick read.
- Summer Camp - Book 1: Susan by Nick Scipio - Book One of Nick Scipio's classic coming of age story. Follow Paul as he grows from an innocent boy into a successful, loving man. The challenges and girls/women he meets along the way influence his life in positive and negative ways.
- Summer Camp - Book 2: Gina by Nick Scipio - Book Two of Nick's Classic.
- Summer Camp - Book 3: Kendall by Nick Scipio - Book Three of Nick's Classic.
- Summer Camp - Book 4: Christy by Nick Scipio - Book Four and the Final (we think) in Nick's Classic. In Progress
- The Competitive Edge: Playing The Game III by Rev. Cotton Mather - Book Three and the Final in Sean Porter's journey through life.
- The Hawk and The Chipmunk by The Scot - In progress, yet far enough along to show great development, a compelling plot and story, and great action. Well done!
- The Lottery by Dark Vision - The beginning of a wonderful 3 part series of life, love, and growing up.
- The Millionaire Next Door by Lazlo Zalezac - A very well organized and done story. Highly recommend.
- The Next Generation by Wes Boyd - I heartily recommend all of Wes's stories. This one is particularly powerful.
- Thunder and Lightening by Lazlo Zalezac - More Lazlo - hard to miss with this author.
- Tom's Adventures by T-Rix - Three parts done, waiting on the fourth. An excellent coming of age story.
- Transcending the Role by Frank Downey - Another of Frank's excellent works. I highly recommend monitoring your blood sugar.
- Wagons Ho! by Lazlong - A wonderful historical fiction that actually makes you feel like you've taken the early Oregon Trail. At the same time, it is a wonderful coming of age story.
- Wagons Ho! - The Early Years by Lazlong - The second in the Wagon Ho! Universe. Still fresh and excellent.
- Washed Up by Lazlong - The third in the Wagon Ho! Universe. Still hoping for a fourth in the series!!!
- Wynter by Russell Hoisington - A multi-part series that I'll only reference the first. What is it with the water in that small Colorado town? Brilliant kids that mature early. Well written. Looking forward to more.
Resources
Resources for writers and very serious readers.
- Firefox - if you want to be serious about the web, get the right browser. Off of IE and onto what the web really looks like. Plus, for those that write web pages, the tools available as add-ons are superb.
- OpenOffice - most people will only use about 20% of the functionality of MS Office. Some might get to 80%. Why carry the bloat around of things you don't need? Why pay for it? OpenOffice is a complete solution. And it is FREE.
- Writing Tips for Erotica - jonas's collection of tips for writing erotica (and other stories) as compiled with discussion with other writers in the field. A good insight and worth reading.
I'll post more as I get time. Feel free to send me suggestions!
